Every Month Two New Bollywood Movies on YouTube Box Office

There is a good news for bollywood movies freaks. YouTube has announced that from this month onwards YouTube will be showing two new bollywood flicks every month.

The featured movies on YouTube Box Office for September are 'Shaitaan' and 'Pyaar ka Punchnama'.

YouTube Box Office is sponsored by Intel and was launched 3 months back. The YouTube Box Office channel has already received 11.2 mn views in India and is the 20th most subscribed channel on YouTube.

Users can also choose to watch movies from YouTube movie catalogues which offers over 1500 movie titles including over 400 titles from regional movies.

On the same note Yahoo has also launched free movie channel named as Yahoo Movieplex.

After Youtube now Yahoo! is also moving into the on-line movie business in India.

They've introduced a brand new service named MoviePlex where it is possible to enjoy full-length Bollywood motion pictures on your pc screen anytime, anywhere. The movie collection at this point of time is restricted but does include some popular titles.

As opposed to YouTube which streams movies in the two standard and HD resolutions, the motion pictures on Yahoo! are at the moment offered only in SD. Also, Yahoo! uses Flash Video and therefore you can't view the movies on iPad or other devices that do not support the Flash Player.

The films on Yahoo! India are at present offered totally free and you can find no in-stream advertisements to interrupt your experiences. I nevertheless doubt if people outside India can watch these films.

Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan turn to be 'Rascal' Item boys

Don't think that Sanjay and Ajay have become rascals :) The news is that both the actors are performing an item number "Shake It Saiyan" in David Dhavan's upcoming movie Rascal. 


Initially the song was picturised on Sanjay Dutt and Lisa Haydon but director David Dhavan was so impressed with the way song came up that he decided to bring its another version. 


Finally the item number was re-shot with Ajay, Sanjay and Lisa. 


Rascal is a comedy movie co-produced by Sanjay Dutt and Rupali Aum Entertainment and is all set to release on Dussehra. The cast also includes Arjun Rampal and Kangna Ranaut.

Delhi Celebrating 9/11 Spirit of New York

Marking the tenth anniversary of World Trade center terror attack, The American Center in Delhi is all set to showcase the Spirit of New York through hosting a three day film festival.

The films have been picked so as to demonstrate New York in the previous six decades through the eyes of a few renowned American movie directors - from Gregory La Cava through Woody Allen to Billy Wilder.


The festival features classics like "On the Town", "The Apartment" and Woody Allen's "Annie Hall", as well as more recent comic films like "Coming to America" and "Six Degrees of Separation".

A Dog's Friday : Director's Novel on Movie 'Shabri' s Journey to Release

Actor-writer turned director Lalit Marathe who waited for long five year to release his directorial debut "Shabri" under Ram Gopal Varma production is ready with his movie and a novel essaying the journey from the making to the release of the film.

Lalit Marathe is not sure what exactly caused delay in release of movie which was scheduled in August 2006. However he utilized the time perfectly and penned the novel on sort of unending journey of the movie.

"There is this novel I have written, which would be published very soon, called 'A Dog's Friday' because I felt like a dog waiting for his Friday. It's about a director's journey till his film is released. It's almost an autobiography. It's an interesting story dealing with incidents during the making of 'Shabri'," Marathe told IANS.

"Shabri is a film on the personal journey of a woman in the underworld and her emotional experiences," Marathe said.

Although the distributors are not confident enough but Lalit believes that the film would reach out to a global audience.

Kukunoor Movies is Back | Nagesh Kuknoor's New Movie Mod

Nagesh Kukunoor a chemical engineer turned director who is famous for his movies with difference. He has mesmerized us with his fabulous direction in various movies like Hyderabad Blues (his debut movie as actor/director), Iqbal, Dor and Teen Deewaarein. He is again back with his forthcoming movie Mod which will cast Ayesha Takiya and VJ Ranvijay.

He made the movies under the banner Sic Production (except Hyderabad Blues which was produced under Kukunoor Movies) but he realized that the audience find it difficult to figure out that its Nagesh Kukunoor movie. Therefore he has decided to make movies under Kukunoor Movies instead of  Sic Production in order to get connected with the audience easily.

Specialty of Nagesh Kukunoor movies is that the backdrop is always from small towns of India and the movie is shot in real locations instead of studios.

His forthcoming movie Mod is said to be Hindi adaptation of a Vietnamese movie "Keeping Watch", but Kuknoor describes it as a fresh story.

He mentions that although the movie is an adaptation of "Keeping Watch" but its originality depends on how you interpret it.

Salman Khan is going to US for his Facial Treatment

It can sound a little bad news for the fans that Salman Khan will not be attending his forthcoming movie Bodyguard's promotion campaign. He has taken us this decision due to health issues. Therefore he has planned to wrap up the promotion of his movie and will fly to US for the treatment.

In medical terminology, Salman Khan is suffering from trigeminal neuralgia and aneurysm. Salman told that the he has feen suffering from this pain since 2007. He experienced the first attack of pain in the left side of his face during the making of his film "Partner" (2007) and the pain came back while he was shooting for "Veer" (2010). Finally he found it difficult to carry on with this unbearable pain in the head, jaws and cheeks and decided to go for the treatment.

Because of his this treatment schedule he will not be here in India to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, Eid and his movie release.

Ek Tha Tiger Movie Wallpaper - Salman and Katrina's Upcoming Movie

After a long gap Salman and Katrina are coming together in Yash Raj Films' upcoming movie Ek Tha Tiger. It was announced in  a press release that Salman and Katrina will play lead role in the movie and director will be Kabir Khan. This is the first time for Salman Khan with Yash Raj Banners and third time for Kabir Khan after Kabul Express and New York.

Filming of Ek Tha Tiger began on August 10, 2011 and the film is set to release next year (mid 2012). On 9 August 2011, Yashraj Films announced that they will be releasing the first look of the film in form of a digital poster, which was released on August 10, 2011. It is the first Bollywood film ever to do so.

Prakash Jha's Upcoming Film on Creative Freedom

It is said that Prakash Jha and controversies are made for each other. His movies, which show ugly face of our society, appear hard to digest by the so called social police. His recent movie Aarakshan had to face the same atrocity from these so called social monitors and therefore Aarakshan was banned in many states. However the film recieved clean chit after it was screened in front of government officials. Did we ever realize why a free country which on hand gives right to expression to its citizen but at the same time takes measures to curb the creative freedom of the very effective medium that is cinema. This is a matter to ponder and requires a debate.

Now Prakash Jha has decided to make a movie on the same topic that is Creative Freedom.  His first hand  experience of battling various organisations and state governments for the release of "Aarakshan" has inspired a script on the subject of creative freedom.

Prakash Jha says, "Why are we filmmakers constantly subjected to efforts to stifle our voices? I was provoked enough to go to the Supreme Court. A lot of filmmakers just succumb to pressure and make whatever adjustments are required of them. We shouldn't allow this to happen."

So its a good news for quality cinema audience that Prakash Jha is coming up with a movie to show mirror to the society and so called social monitors.

Aarakshan Gets Green Signal in Punjab | Ban Lifted from Screening of Movie Aarakshan in Punjab

There is good news for Amitabh Bachchan fans who are desperately waiting for the screening of Aarakshan in Punjab! Punjab government has lifted the ban from screening of Aarakshan in theaters after cuts of some scenes on which state government had objection.


A high-level committee set up by the Punjab government to preview Aarakshan, had on Friday recommended lifting the ban in the state if the film producer agreed to make certain changes.

"We have deleted the scenes and dialogues to which the state government committee had objections. These portions have been submitted to the state government and will not be shown. The rest of the film will be screened in theatres across Punjab," an official of a multiplex at Zirakpur, near Chandigarh, said Monday.

Apart from mentioning the objectionable dialogues of movie, the committee even highlighted the positive aspects of the movie and the underlying thought provoking message related to commercialization of education in India.

A spokesperson of the committee said: "Since the overall message of the movie is positive, the committee feels that the movie may be released in Punjab after making the amendments as suggested."

So now the audience can enjoy the movie and we believe that the positive message will be taken, assimilated and applied in our current education system.

Computer buff actor Shammi Kapoor was payed homage by various Bollywood actors through the micro messaging site Twitter.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted that "The flamboyance and joi de verve of the Industry lost!," he further tweeted that "Shammi ji: An entire life full of optimism and happy spirit, caring loving to all... Now suddenly silent."

Actress Priyanka Chopra tweeted: "Sometimes no amount of kind words can compensate for a loss! Bhole baba ki jai Shammi maharajji. He was our guruji. I am at a loss."

"He was an inspiration not just for his style and the films he did, but also his attitude towards life. We will miss you Shammi uncle, RIP," tweeted actress Deepika Padukone.

"The most stylish actor ever. We love you and we will miss you," tweeted actor Riteish Deshmukh.

Veteran Actor Shammi Kapoor Dies | Rest in Peace Shammi Kapoor

Yesteryear's superstar Shammi Kapoor passed away on Sunday morning at Breech Candy hospital. He was admitted to the hospital a week ago after renal failure. He was 79 years old.

"Shammi ji: An entire life full of optimism and happy spirit, caring loving to all... Now suddenly silent," he tweeted again.

Shammi Kapoor was second of three sons born to legendary actor Prithviraj Kapoor.

Shammi Kapoor stepped in Bollywood in 1953 with the film "Jeevan Jyoti". In a career that stretched into the 1970s, the tall, athletic and green-eyed hero starred in numerous hits, including "An Evening in Paris", "China Town", "Kashmir Ki Kali", "Janwar" and "Junglee".

The actor paired with almost all of his contemporary actresses but Asha Paarekh and Sharmila Tagore were his leading heroines.

Today Kajol Devgan or better simply known as Kajol is celebrating her 37th birthday today. Kajol was born to a bengali-marathi descent in 1974. Her mother Tanuja is an actress, while her late father Shomu Mukherjee was a film director and producer.

She made her debut in the movie Bekhudi but got the taste of success from her second movie Baazigar opposite Shahrukh Khan. After Baazigar this pair created success stories in mega box-office buster Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai(1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham(2001) and My Name is Khan(2010).

Kajol married bollywood superstar Ajay Devgan in 1999. After shooting for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001, she took a sabbatical from full-time acting for five years. She made a comeback with Kunal Kohli's Fanna (2006) and won Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Along with her late aunt Nutan, Kajol holds the record of maximum number (5) of Best Actress wins at the Filmfare Awards.

Government of India honored her with Padma Shree Award for her contribution in Indian Cinema.

Mere Brother ki Dulhan - Movie Preview, Trailer, Wallpapers and Release Date

Yas Raj films' Mere Brother ki Dulhan or MBKD, a directorial debut by Ali Abbas Zafar is interestingly unique in a way because this marks an Indian film where none of the three leads are Indian nationals. Imran Khan is Indian-American, Katrina Kaif is British of partly Indian descent and Ali Zafar is Pakistani.

It is a romantic comedy with a "topsy-turvy story" set amongst upper middle class families in northern India. Imran Khan plays a character who falls in love with his brother's (Ali Zafar) fiancée (Katrina Kaif).

In the initial phase the role, which Ali Zafar is playing, was offered to Ritesh Deshmukh who turned it down. It was then given to Ali Zafar (no relation to the director), an actor who'd received rave reviews for his debut film Tere Bin Laden.

Dhoom 3 Postponed - Abhishek Bachchan on Paternity Leave

Yash Raj banner's ambitious project Dhoom 3 has been postponed for Abhishek Bachchan who is soon going to become daddy.

The actor had requested Yash Chopra to allow him to relieve till November so that he can spend some quality time with his wife Aishwarya who is pregnant and expected to deliver a baby in November.

Yash Chopra has accepted his paternity leave and postponed the production of movie till November. The actor (Abhishek) is ready to shoot in mid December so depending on availability of crew members the movie may start in December.

So soon we will see Abhishek Bachchan agin on screen as super cop Jai Dixit.

Inaugural Banga-Vibhushan for Manna Dey, Mahashweta Devi

Legendary singer Manna De and Magsaysay award winner renowned writer Mahashweta Devi are are among the nine luminaries from diverse fields felicitated with the inaugural 'Banga-Vibhusan' award by the West Bengal government Monday.


The award is in recognition to their contribution in the field of Arts, Culture, Music and Sports.


However due to bad health Manna Dey could not come to attend the ceremony in person, he was handed over the award at his Bangalore residence. A short clip was also filmed in which he was shown emotional while receiving the award. He said "I am a son of Bengal; I have sung so many Bengali songs. I have worked with all the big music directors of my time. But I was never given any recognition. This is the best award that I have got'. 


Same sentiments were expressed by the writer, 'I have written mostly in Bengali. I have got the Jnanpith award, but the state government did not give me any recognition. Today I am overwhelmed to get this award.'


She also asked the government to encourage the budding writers by recognizing their efforts through these awards and recognition.

There is buzz in the air that Venkatesh is going to act in the super hit movie Golmal 3 remake in Telugu.

Just to inform that Ajay Devgan, Rohit Shetty and gang's Golmal 3 was released last year in Diwali and was a blockbuster with a collection of more than Rs. 100 crores.

Although it is not confirmed officially but there is a buzz in the town taht Srinu Vytla is going to wield the mega phone for this flick and actor Srikanth will play the other lead role in the film.

RIP David Ngoombujarra | Aborigine Actor David Ngoombujarra Dies

The three-time Australian Film Institute winner aborigine actor David Ngoombujarra dies in an age of 44. The Australia and Rabbit Proof Fence actor was found dead in a park on Sunday in Fremantle, near Perth. The police does not suspect the death as murder.

Born in Meekatharra, West Australia, Ngoombujarra was one of thousands of Aboriginal children handed over to white families under Australian government assimilation policies.

He won his first Australian Film Institute award in 1993 for his role in Blackfellas. He won his second Australian Film Institute award after 10 years in 2007 for the movie Black and White. And, in 2007, he won a third for a guest role in Australian TV legal drama The Circuit.

Paying tribute to David Ngoombujarra his co-star Hugh Jackman tweeted "So saddened to hear about the passing of David Ngoombujarra. His laugh, warmth and humanity will live on with all who knew him".

Don 2: The Chase Continues is an upcoming action thriller, by director Farhan Akhtar and a sequel of Don: The Chase Begins Again. The star cast of Don 2 is same as Don (Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Bomen Irani, Lara Dutta, Om Puri) except two new faces Kunal Kapoor and Hritik Roshan.

Aarakshan Gets Clean Chit for Censor Board

Prakash Jha's much anticipated multi starrer movie Aarakshan is awarded U/A certificate, without a single cut, by the Central Board of Film Certification. 


The certificate was awarded after an examining committee, set up with representatives from the Dalit, OBC, SC and ST community reviewed the movie and unanimously agreed to clear it.


After facing lots of wrath from various organizations and administration it can be a sigh of relief for the cast and director Prakash Jha to receive the U/A certificate from censor board with a single cut.  



The movie Aarakshan starring Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, is a drama based on the policies of caste-based reservation system in educational institutions and government jobs.

Murder 3 On the Cards

Overwhelmed with the unexpectedly high success of Murder 2, Bhatt came is excited to work on this project and planning to launch Murder 3 very soon.

Bhatt camp has asked director Mohit Suri to halt all other projects and concentrate on Murder 3 until its released.

It is expected that this movie is planned to be released by summer 2012. The team has already planned the script task and Shagufta Rafique, the writer of previous two versions (Murder & Murder 2) has been relied upon again to work on the script and come up with it ASAP.

Its quite obvious that Emraan Hashmi is going to play the lead role in the movie Murder 3, however the makers are again not on mood to repeat the lead lady face and will bring up some other actress.

So any guesses who is going to be the next lady face in Murder 3?

Shahrukh - Sunny Deol Clash Revealed

King khan who has no dearth of friends turned enemies added one more new member in this list.  It is reported that the disturbance in relationship of these stars is occurring due to release date of their movies.

Although it is not a big issue that release of two movies clash, after all bollywood produces hundreds of movies in a year.


Sunny Deol has decided to release his upcoming flick I Love New Year on the same day when King Khan's much anticipated Don2 is slated to release.

Although it's a high risk game for Sunny Deol who is full of confidence with success of his recent hit Yamla Pagla Deewana.

But as the story goes the battle of two benefits the third, may be some other film will cash the benefit of this conflict.

In a directorial debut, Pankaj Kapur the legendary actor is coming up with his movie Mausam. The movie has Shahid Kapur opposite Sonam Kapoor along with Pankaj Kapur. This is the first time actor Shahid Kapur has been in a film opposite his father, Pankaj Kapur.

Sallu & Aamir Missing from Andaz Apna Apna Animation Movie

There is a good news for the fans of yesteryear's mega hit comedy movie Andaz Apna Apna. The movie Andaz Apna Apna is going to be made in animation this year.

However there is bad news for fans of both Khans (Aamir n Salman) that the cartoons will not resemble the two actors.

In order to avoid any legal issues the movie production company iRock decided not to include the cartoons which resemble these two Khans.

We are not sure how much fun and thrill we will have in this animated version of Andaz Apna Apna minus Salman and Aamir.

Murder 2 - Moview Preview, Trailer, Wallpapers and Release Date

The upcoming bollywood erotic thriller Murder 2 is sequel of 2004 blockbuster movie Murder. Jacqueline Fernandez and Emraan Hashmi are in the lead role in this movie. The film has been given an 'A' certificate from Indian censor board.
